Lost superannuation reminder!

Nest EggI love it when I’m sitting here considering my list of blog post ideas, when all of a sudden someone contacts me with a query – bingo, blog post idea!

I’ve written about lost superannuation before, you can read those posts here and here, but this is a topic you will see me raise every so often, because it’s important!

The client who contacted me has led a wonderfully fulfilling life working across our beautiful country, as well as travelling the world…but during that time, with a new superannuation fund at most jobs and multiple address changes…things have gotten out of hand.

I’m so pleased she has contacted me to start the process of finding her lost superannuation, once she gets this organised I know she will feel comfortable with her superannuation situation and she’ll be in a position to take control!

The first port of call is still the Lost Members Register, you’ll need a MyGov account to access the register, but from there the SuperMatch tool will assist you to bring it all together.

If you’ve got any queries on this, please contact me.

Online Accounting with Xero

xero-certified-advisor-logo-hires-RGBLast week I introduced you to Xero – Beautiful Accounting Software. Today sees the first of many up coming posts regarding the features of the software and the reasons why I love working with it.

Xero is on online accounting tool – with Xero, you can run the financial side of your business and access your financial records from your Mac, PC, tablet or phone, no matter where you are in the world.

One of the great features for accountants is that our clients can invite us to be an advisor to their file so we are able to view the accounts and provide valuable real-time advice.

In addition, your data is stored in the cloud, always backed up securely and always with up to date software – so you don’t need to worry if your computer is lost or stolen.

One of the key features making Xero a real time saver and invaluable tool for your business is being able to connect your bank account to Xero.  By activating the bank feed option, you can get your latest bank, credit card and PayPal transactions imported and categorised so your only job is to click “OK” to reconcile!

If you’d like to know more about how easy Xero is to use, Contact me!

Is your first aid up to date?

?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????As with many “Frivolous Friday” posts, this one has a serious undertone…to act as a timely reminder to everyone who is trained in first aid to ensure you keep your qualifications up to date!

Many of you will know that I teach first aid on a regular basis for a local non profit organisation, this t

eaching as well as my instructing at the gym requires me to hold a current first aid and CPR qualification (somehow I feel like I’m stating the obvious…)

My diary tells me that my CPR qualification is due to expire in the next fortnight, so I’ve booked into a course before then to ensure it doesn’t lapse…and this is the reason for my post!

The qualification HLTAID003 Provide First Aid is valid for 3 years from the date of your certificate, however the qualification HLTAID001 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) expires after a 12 month period – I think this fact is often forgotten or unknown by many with first aid qualifications.

If you are trained in first aid, and especially if you are a recognised first aider in your workplace or volunteer agency…please check your records and diarise your expiry dates.  It’s also a really good idea to book into a course well in advance to secure your spot!

Have a great weekend!
