Welcome to 2016!

2016Happy New Year and welcome to 2016 – it feels a little strange to say this when we are almost three weeks into 2016, but I truly hope you all had a safe and enjoyable Christmas and New Year!

Now though, it’s time to get back to business, and I hope you didn’t think I forgot about you yesterday? For the foreseeable future, you’ll be hearing from The Tax Chic on Tuesdays and Thursdays, although I’ll throw an extra one in every now and then when the need arises.

Late last year we visited the topic of planning and goal setting (you can read that here), and I have set some pretty lofty goals for myself for this year! I’ve enrolled in a course that is part online and part face-to-face, so there’ll be plenty of trips to Melbourne for that, and I have started to get serious about the book I am wanting to write as the result of my trip to Paris – if you’d like to keep up to date with this, please like my new Facebook page “Bron Levett – Aspiring Author

There’s also plenty planned on the Business in Heels front, and in all honesty…I’m a little tired just looking at my schedule!

What about you? Have you got great things planned for 2016?  Tell me all about it…

Everyone is stressed…

relaxstressHave you noticed how stressed everyone is?

I’m usually one of those super organised people who have their shopping finished in November, but not this year – I managed to complete most of my Christmas shopping over the weekend, and I was rather relaxed about it all…and I think that’s because I’ve just decided that what will be will be…

But for others, I couldn’t help notice that many people were rushing and tearing about in a frenzy…so I thought I’d share a few tips for you that always help me get through the silly season:

  • if you only have a few days left at work before you take a break, just remember that everything will be waiting for you when you get back!  I completely understand that deadlines are a part of life, but take a look at the things that REALLY need doing before the end of Thursday and prioritise those
  • in most cases the shops are closed for only one day, yes…one day – there’s no need to buy the supermarket out of food, save some for Boxing Day!
  • once the flurry of celebrations is over and you stop, you’re going to need sleep…try to creep up on a few extra hours this week.  Perhaps head to bed one hour earlier each night, it WILL make a difference!
  • you can wrap that Christmas present in plain paper, I promise the person on the receiving end will not be worried about the paper; and
  • remember to breathe…

Gee I hope that helps!

Business in Heels 2016

square-corporate-logo1To round out the week I thought I’d take some time to fill you in on our plans for Business in Heels – South West Victoria for 2016!

We’ll be kicking things off on Wednesday 10th February, 2016 at Café Lava in Warrnambool where we’ll hear all about the concept and benefits of Destination Warrnambool!

Then, in an exciting turn of events, we’ll be heading to Maddens Hotel in Camperdown on Wednesday 9th March, 2016!

Our plan is to hold events in Warrnambool every second month and in between we’ll head out to see our sole sisters around the district – so if you know anyone in Camperdown, Hamilton or Port Fairy (and everywhere in between) who may be interested…please send them to our Website to create a profile and ask them to join our Facebook group.

The more the merrier!

And of course, if you’d like to know more about partnering with us, please get in touch!
